Ki-Oku is quickly becoming one of my favorite fragrance houses. Shipping was fast and very thoughtfully packaged. I know this house is gaining a lot of attention quickly so I was really impressed with the personal touches, you can tell that the owner puts her whole heart into these fragrances. I tried the entire line and there was not a single fragrance that I did not like. I would recommend this house in a heartbeat! I have sent many people to Ki-Oku and will continue to do so. If you are an avid perfume lover you know the routine. Hear about a perfume, research the notes, the reviews, order it and build it up in your head. Unfortunately I'd say 80% of the time the idea in my head is let down by reality. That's not to say the perfumes I've gotten in the past were bad, just that the idea that was sold to me fell short.

I stumbled across Ki-oku perfumes by a tiktok, doom scrolling in the wonderful world of Indy and small business perfumery, there was video just simply explaining the ones that sold the most. I clicked the link to their store and was greeted with a very pleasant overall look to the business. There was a lot of love and dedication put into each fragrances description that I clicked, and before I knew it I had bought the discovery set.

Once I received it I was kinda blown away, I am not used to such a personal touch, even having bought from many smaller businesses. There was a gorgeous pressed flower sealing the note cards and extra samples that were given to me. A lovely hand written personal thank you accompanied the discovery set I bought and it was so lovingly (as well as aesthetically) wrapped.

I think what sold me was before I smelled anything, before I even inspected the contents, I opened that box and was met with a smell that I can only describe as expensive and luxury. It was that smell I had been looking for, something addictive, rich smelling of quality and memorable. I need to reiterate that was all before I even smelled the samples.

Each sample had a notes card which was very nicely written out and a wonderful touch. I am slowly wearing each sample for a few days each to really get aquinted but I can already tell this house is a keeper. Not only is every scent somehow unique they all smell like they are from the same house.

These perfumes don't smell trending, they don't smell like every single perfume at sephora, and yet the universally scratched that itch I have honestly spent hundreds trying to get. This is the safest of blind buys I truly hope this company grows (even If I want to gate keep) because honestly it deserves it. This is art in perfume again, not just trends and cheap ingredients. I adore each scent already, thank you so much for the passion you put into these, it shines through.

I really appreciated the care and attention put into my package. There was a hand written note and it was beautifully prepared!! one of the little envelopes had a dried flower sticker :,) and the scents themselves are gorgeous and UNIQUE. I just received my discovery set and could not wait to smell everything in the box. Upon opening it I was touched to see a hand written card and additional samples to try!

After smelling all of them I must say I’m truly impressed. Each of them are beautiful and the care/intention set in each fragrance shines. I fell in love with Afterglow, Origami, and Drifter.

I haven’t tested for longevity or projection of these scents. They are more subtle upon first impression but each scent is really spectacular.
